Therapy for trauma in cañon city

differently
trauma affects each person

Many people experience at least one traumatic event in their lives that can affect how they operate in their day-to-day lives.

A traumatic event can be a one-time situation, or something that takes place over a long period of time.

Traumatic events can shape who we are as people in many ways, but can also negatively affect our brains and the way we operate.

Understanding
Trauma

Trauma can take many forms—childhood, racial, generational, or secondary—and affects everyone differently. It can cause you to shut down parts of your brain as a way to cope. At Evolve Therapy, you'll receive support to reactivate those parts, helping you move from merely functioning to truly thriving.

How Can Therapy for Trauma Help:

Your journey at Evolve Therapy & Consulting begins with a strong, meaningful connection. You’ll receive support to tackle deep emotions and work through tough experiences using evidence-based, science-backed practices. The goal is for you to recognize your worth and thrive, no matter how long it takes. In a judgment-free space, you’ll gain the tools to heal from trauma and care for yourself, with unfiltered honesty along the way—even if it includes a bit of choice language.

With a Bachelor’s in Psychology, a Master’s in Social Work, and a specialization in trauma recovery, my professional career has been dedicated to supporting victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. You’ll benefit from my expertise in both traditional therapy and alternative approaches, such as self-defense, to help rebuild your life no matter what you're going through. This unique combination offers a comprehensive path to recovery and healing tailored to your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

I offer a free 30 minute consultation to find out if we are the right fit for each other. This gives you the opportunity to ask me any questions you might have regarding therapy.

What are your session rates?

Rates at Evolve Therapy & Consulting are $200 for the initial intake session, and $150 per session after that.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I don't accept insurance directly. However, I've partnered with Mentaya, a service that helps you get reimbursed for out-of-network therapy sessions.

Mentaya handles the paperwork, submits claims, and follows up with insurance—saving you the hassle. If you have out-of-network benefits, you can easily see if you qualify here. They charge a 5% fee per claim, with a money-back guarantee if your claim isn't successfully submitted.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that sometimes things come up. If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee, as it is unlikely I will be able to fill that time on such short notice.

do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

Yep! I offer in-person sessions in my office in Cañon City, Colorado, as well as virtual sessions via Google Meet.

Do you work with children?

I do not take on children as clients. I find I do my best work with adults ages 25 and older.
